#9 Horace Walpole built Strawberry Hill, his Gothic folly, at the end of the 18th century and was still popular in the 19th century. French exile Henri Duc d'Aumale (from the Orl�ans family) commissioned the photographer Philippe Henry Delamotte to take pictures of the building. The pictures were in the Duc personal collection and  represent the interest created by Strawberry Hill throughout the 19th century in England and abroad.
